Rockaway Surf Shop is a new brand which will be opening a brick and mortar store in Rockaway Beach, New York. The images below are a proposal for the branding of the shop.
I chose an abstract approach for this project as the shop's target demo is 25-40 and clean modern edgy designs appeal to that demographic. As I mentioned above my goal was to create unique symbols that would be universally understood, as well as make people want to know more about the brand.

Blue and orange were chosen to represent the waves, and sun of the beach, as well as to pay homage to the colors in the flag of New York. I also avoided using stock white because I wanted to utilize the negative space of the card to continue with the beachy vibe.
